> This update brings live voice typing, a flexible layout with a floating input box for full-screen chat, direct PPT editing, and Remove Background and Enhance on Canvas. You can now run up to 10 Mini Apps at once, create sidebar sections, remove projects in bulk, and import Chrome sign-ins on Windows.
>
> ### New and Improved
>
> * **Live voice typing:** Press Control+D on macOS or Ctrl+D on Windows and each sentence appears at your cursor as you speak. Type or edit while recording; nothing is sent automatically.
> * **Flexible layout & floating input:** Keep the chat on the left or right, or go full screen to hide it. Read web pages and docs or create on the canvas with the Agent, without breaking your focus.
> * **More Mini Apps at once:** The limit now scales with your computer's memory, up to 10.
> * **Easier Canvas editing:** Zoom into chat images and videos and send them to Canvas in one click. Canvas adds Remove Background and Enhance.
> * **Sidebar sections:** Right-click a chat or project to group it into your own sections, or ask the Agent to organize your sidebar.
> * **Bulk remove projects:** Remove multiple local projects at once in Manage Projects, with full paths shown.
> * **Chrome sign-ins on Windows:** Import cookies from Chrome on Windows so the built-in browser stays signed in.
> * **Edit PPT directly:** Open a local PPTX to edit text, charts, and animations, or select content and let the Agent revise it. Saves as native PPTX.

> This update lets **a single project span multiple folders**. Search now reaches into messages, web pages and files, and Mini Apps can use the camera and send system notifications. We've also fixed several stability issues in long conversations.
>
> ### New and Improved
>
> * **Multiple folders per project:** Add more than one folder to a project and switch between them in the file panel on the right. Adding folders isn't supported for SSH remote projects yet.
> * **Search that finds more:** Cmd/Ctrl+K now matches message content directly. Cmd/Ctrl+F follows whatever is open in the right panel, so you can search within a web page, a file, a side chat or a Mini App.
> * **Find files faster with @:** Mentioning a file with @ supports fuzzy matching and returns results faster in large projects.
> * **Custom project icons:** Pick an emoji and a color for each project. Your choice shows up on your other devices too.
> * **See when the Agent needs you:** When the Agent is waiting on your answer, the sidebar marks that conversation with “Needs input”.
> * **Smoother Goal mode:** You can edit queued messages, failures now come with a clear explanation, and progress steps can be collapsed. If a goal hits its budget limit, editing the goal lets it keep going.
> * **Manage queued side chat messages:** Messages sent from a side chat to the main conversation that are still waiting in the queue can be edited, deleted or reordered.
> * **Camera and notifications for Mini Apps:** Mini Apps can now request access to the camera and send system notifications. You can review these permissions before installing.
> * **Pick up where you left off:** Switching back to a conversation takes you to where you were last reading.
> * **IM follow-ups follow your settings:** Consecutive messages sent from an IM app are either queued or sent straight into the current task, based on Settings › Follow-up behavior.
> * **Programmatic Tool Calling (PTC, Beta):** Turn it on in Settings › General, and the Agent can combine tool calls in code, which helps with batch work and multi-step tasks. It takes effect in new conversations or after context compaction.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Fixed web search and website deployment failing in long conversations when the sign-in session expired.
> * Reduced memory usage in long conversations.
> * The app no longer modifies your shell config files or your Windows user PATH at startup.
> * MiniMax Code now appears in your system's “Open with” list, but no longer makes itself the default app.
> * Pressing Cmd/Ctrl+R inside the built-in browser now reloads only the web page, not the whole app.
> * When a link can't be opened, you'll see a message and can copy the link with one click.
> * If a built-in Agent's configuration file is missing or damaged, it's restored automatically at startup, so the Agent can reply again.
> * Computer Use overlays now appear only on the screen of the window being controlled, and desktop control locks left behind by a crashed session are released automatically.
> * Fixed images with relative paths not showing in Markdown files in the right panel.

> This update brings **Hooks, next message suggestions and more flexible scheduled tasks**. You can now choose how the Agent asks you questions, including a new Auto mode. The built-in browser now has device preview, and you can check background task progress at any time. Your routine workflows run on their own, and you can see more clearly how each task is going.
>
> ### New and Improved
>
> * **Hooks are here:** Set up commands in Settings › Plugins › Hooks, and the Agent runs them automatically at key points in a task. A hook can apply to all projects or to just one.
> * **Next message suggestions:** When a reply finishes, the input box suggests a message you could send next. Press Tab to fill it in and Enter to send it. Turn on “Next message suggestion” in Settings › General › Preferences. The feature is off by default. During Beta, it is available to subscribers using official models; BYOK models do not generate suggestions. Generating suggestions counts toward the selected model's usage allowance.
> * **More flexible scheduled tasks:** A scheduled task can now continue in an existing conversation. There's also a new “Does not repeat” option for tasks that only need to run once.
> * **Device preview for web pages:** Open “Device preview” in the built-in browser to switch between 13 preview options across desktop, tablet and mobile and see how your page looks.
> * **See your background tasks:** Tasks running in the background all show up under “Background tasks”. You can check their progress or stop them at any time, and you'll get a notification when they finish.
> * **Agent questions, at your pace:** In Settings › General › Questions, choose Block, Skip or Auto. You can set the global default, Goal mode and Plan mode separately. In Auto mode, the Agent judges how important each question is. It waits for your answer on the ones that matter and skips the rest so it can keep working.

> ### What's New
>
> * **Side Chat:** In a local conversation, enter `/side` or click **+** in the right panel to start a side chat with the current context while your main task keeps running. Select text from a reply to discuss it in a side chat, then promote that chat to a new main conversation when you want to take it further.
> * **MiniMax Bot:** Build a team of Bots powered by Mini Apps, with group chats and scheduled tasks. Use `@` mentions to hand off work in a group chat. Long-running tasks continue in the background and return their results to the conversation. Each Bot has its own model, reasoning level, memory, and appearance settings.
> * **Remote Control across devices:** Connect one phone to multiple computers, or connect to other computers from your desktop. Add a device with a pairing code, select the computer and working directory, and pick up its projects and existing conversations.
> * **More file previews:** Preview local ZIP archives, XMind mind maps, email files, and SQLite data directly in MiniMax Code. Add supported mind map nodes, email text, or data cells to a conversation for further discussion or analysis.
> * **Windows command environment:** Choose an available PowerShell or Git Bash installation in Settings for Agent commands. The choice applies to new conversations; existing conversations keep their current environment.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * **An improved Mini App experience:** Run analyses independently in a Mini App, track progress, and cancel midway without tying up the main conversation. Pop the workspace out into a separate window without losing its state, and find running Mini Apps in the conversation list.

> * **Goal results and file downloads:** Completed Goals show a final reply with delivered files in the results area. Choose a save location before downloading generated files.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Fixed BYOK model order reverting after saving a drag-and-drop reorder.
> * Fixed clipped double-digit list numbers, numbered questions being misread as headings, and incorrect rendering of single-line code blocks without a language label.
> * Fixed missing files required by the DOCX skill in desktop installation packages.
> * Fixed some conversation interruptions after questionnaire responses and context compaction, and improved automatic retries for model timeouts and certain network errors.

> ### What's New
>
> * **Browser Control:** MiniMax Code can now operate continuously inside the built-in browser: reading pages, filling forms, uploading files from the current task or workspace, and checking the result after each action. For outward-facing actions such as publishing, sending, or submitting, it asks for confirmation before proceeding. On first use, you can also confirm importing cookies from Chrome to reuse existing sign-in sessions; the import does not include browsing history, cache, or saved passwords.
> * **Goal Mode:** Set complex or long-running work as a Goal so MiniMax Code can keep progressing around a clear objective. You can check the current status and elapsed time at any point. When more information or permission is needed, the Agent asks at the relevant step; when the Goal is completed or can no longer continue, it returns a clear result.
> * **Feedback Center:** The issue reporting and response workflow has been upgraded. You can submit feedback from the lower-left menu or from a conversation, with task context, workspace, and client version attached automatically. Screenshots and diagnostic logs can be added, and log upload can be turned off if privacy is a concern. After submission, My Feedback shows the ticket ID and handling status.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * **File outputs in conversations:** File results and interactions in conversations are clearer. Files generated or referenced by MiniMax Code are presented as actionable results, and clicking them can locate the exact file, folder, or code line in the project.
> * **Default shortcuts:** New default shortcuts are available, with a unified shortcut management entry in Settings. You can search, edit, delete, or restore shortcuts, and quickly trigger common actions such as creating a task, opening a project, searching, toggling the sidebar, opening the terminal, and switching tasks from the keyboard.

>
> * **Remote Control:** Connect to your desktop Agent from your phone to check progress, send instructions, and approve permission requests on the go.
> * **Built-in Browser:** Open web pages and HTML artifacts directly in the app sidebar, so you can preview results, debug pages, and update code without leaving the task.
> * **Coding / Work Modes:** Coding mode keeps your project environment, Git branches, worktree tools, and other development context close at hand. Work mode simplifies technical details so you can focus on task progress and final deliverables.
> * **BYOK Model Configuration:** Use your MiniMax API key, or add a custom provider using a base URL, API key, and model name.

> ## 0.7.4 · 2026-10-31
>
> ### Fixed
>
> * Fixed Gemini custom providers served through Vertex AI rejecting the request with `Requests ending with a model turn are not supported` when a reminder followed a tool result, which stopped the agent.
>
> ## 0.7.3 · 2026-10-30
>
> ### Added
>
> * Custom providers support the native Google Gemini protocol: adding a provider from `/model` and `mcode provider add --api-format` now offer Google Gemini. The API key authenticates the way Gemini expects, `/v1beta` is added when the Base URL is only a domain, and available models can be discovered automatically. Thinking efforts are low, medium, and high; higher efforts are sent as high.
> * Gemini models can read audio and whole PDFs directly: once audio or pdf is checked in the model's input capabilities, audio and PDF files added with `@`, a pasted path, or the clipboard, and audio and PDFs read by the `read` tool, are passed to the model as they are. When you switch to a model on another protocol, audio and PDFs in the history become text notes.
>
> ### Improved
>
> * Videos sent to a model without audio input configured have their audio track removed first (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM), so uploads are smaller and you are not billed for sound the model cannot hear. The session history keeps the original video, so a model with audio configured still hears it.
> * History media the current model does not support, such as videos after switching to an image-only model, become text notes in the request instead of getting the request rejected. The history is unchanged, and the media is sent again after switching back to a model that supports it.
> * Each `web_search` page body over 4 KiB keeps only its beginning and end; the full body is saved to a file you can open with `read`, so the context of long sessions grows more slowly.
> * Context compaction no longer rewrites tool results that were already sent; automatic compaction only summarizes, so the prompt cache is more stable. `enabled`, `watermarkKiB`, `minSavingsKiB`, `minCandidateKiB`, and `keepRecentRounds` under `toolResultCompaction` no longer take effect, and old values are ignored.
> * Custom models can declare whether their thinking is bound to the preceding conversation with `capabilities.thinking_prefix_binding`; when it is not declared, the model ID decides as before.
>
> ### Fixed
>
> * Fixed automatic compaction failing in long sessions for models whose thinking is bound to the preceding conversation, with `Canonical ToolResult compaction changed a non-result message`, and `/retry` unable to recover, leaving the session stuck.
> * Fixed Gemini 3 occasionally returning an empty reply after a tool call, which made the agent stop abruptly.
> * Fixed Gemini 3.7 / 3.8 Flash and Gemini 4 returning 400 for a thinking effort below LOW; truncated or blocked replies now end correctly, and token usage no longer counts cached tokens twice.
>
> ## 0.7.2 · 2026-10-30
>
> ### Added
>
> * When a Goal reaches its limits, edit it with `/goal edit` to reset the limits and continue. Usage so far is kept, and any time, token, or request caps stated in the new objective take effect; if a new cap is still at or below the usage, the Goal stops at its limits again. The Goal banner and hints now point to `/goal edit` instead of clearing and starting a new Goal.
>
> ### Improved
>
> * Deleting a third-party connection moved from `/model` to `/provider`: press `d`, and on the confirmation page only `y` deletes; any other key, including Enter, cancels. Deleting removes the connection's saved API key and all of its models. If the current session uses a model from that connection, switch to another model in `/model` first.
> * A session that is running in another MCode process is read-only in this one: your message is not sent as a steer or queued, and the draft is kept. When the other process finishes, the session refreshes and you can press Enter to send. Stop that turn from the process that runs it.
> * Sending a message no longer waits for the Token Plan quota to refresh, so it goes out immediately even when the quota cache has expired.
> * Whether PTC applies now depends only on the session mode (set when the session is created or after a compaction), and subagents, including Explore, follow their own session mode. The prompt prefix of a session no longer changes between turns, so prompt caching is more stable.
> * Child calls inside `run_code` hand their full results to the program instead of being replaced with a file receipt by the per-call output budget.
> * Built-in subagents can use your configured MCP servers and plugin tools. The tool selectors in `agent.md` follow one rule for built-in, custom, and plugin agents: tools whose names start with `mcp__` are filtered by `mcpServers`, other tools by `tools`, and `disallowedTools` removes any tool.
> * Lower peak memory in long sessions: reading session history only processes the new part.
> * On Windows, the Runtime no longer probes shells at startup. Shells are discovered in the background when you first create a session or run Bash, so a misbehaving probe can no longer slow down or break startup.
> * When remote token counting fails for a BYOK model, the context usage falls back to a local estimate without blocking the conversation. Automatic probing stops when the endpoint is unsupported or the credentials are rejected; network errors back off and resume on their own without a restart.
> * On macOS, moving files to the Trash no longer plays the Finder sound for every file.
> * Computer Use on macOS no longer clicks a pixel position to focus before background key presses. When needed it escalates in order (background element, background coordinates, then foreground) and says which app will take focus before switching to the foreground.
>
> ### Fixed
>
> * Fixed `web_search` failing with 401 in long turns because it kept using the login token from the start of the turn after the token was refreshed.
> * Fixed turns stopping silently as if they had finished normally when an Anthropic-compatible stream was cut off without a `stop_reason`. You now see a model service error, and the content received so far is kept.
> * Fixed a session staying in the running state and refusing new messages after the turn's final result failed to save to the database.
> * Fixed the Git Bash path safety check on Windows parsing heredoc bodies passed to interpreters such as python or node as shell, which misread comparison operators as file writes and blocked the command.
> * Fixed built-in agents being unable to reply when their configuration file was missing or damaged. Startup restores the factory content, archiving a damaged file in the same folder first. Every startup reloads built-in agents to the factory content of the current version and keeps only the model settings; use a custom agent for custom behavior.
> * Fixed moving a file to the Trash inside the sandbox possibly overwriting a file with the same name. Name conflicts now get a suffix, and the source file is kept on failure.
> * Fixed Desktop SSH connections failing because the App Server state lacked installation details. After a successful update, old releases no longer used by any process are removed; a rolled-back update no longer keeps creating repair copies until the disk fills up, and failed restarts back off before retrying.
> * Fixed the agent writing "(Recommended)" into question option labels, which duplicated the recommendation marker.
>
> ## 0.7.1 · 2026-10-27
>
> ### Added
>
> * Local MiniMax-format plugins can declare Apps (`*.app.json`) like official plugins. Once you connect the App, the agent can call its tools through `mcode-tools`. Invalid App references are skipped with a diagnostic, and the rest of the plugin still loads.
> * Goals pick up request and time limits stated in the objective, in addition to the token budget. The Goal banner shows usage against each limit (tokens, requests, time) and what the Goal is waiting for, such as the names and progress of the background tasks it needs.
>
> ### Improved
>
> * Long streaming replies render much faster: the streaming reply redraws at a rate based on how long it takes to render, while the composer and status bar still update every frame. Code blocks over 64K characters or 1,250 lines skip syntax highlighting and are shown as plain text.
> * The built-in deep-research skill is now a single writing guide instead of a five-step flow, so research tasks finish faster with less output. Reports are saved to the working directory and the absolute path is returned. When an answer depends on a decisive clue, the agent verifies that clue before answering.
> * Regular reads and appends in long sessions no longer rescan the full history chain. A damaged older compaction snapshot no longer blocks the conversation; the next compaction or a rewind across that snapshot is still refused.
> * With BYOK models, prompt suggestions are no longer sent to MiniMax content review.
> * Built-in tools loaded on demand through `tool_search` accept numeric fields that the model writes as strings (such as `"2"`), as direct calls already do.
>
> ### Fixed
>
> * Fixed `/status` showing the name the account was registered with instead of its current name, and the 5-hour quota showing `resets in 5h 1m`. The countdown now rounds down, never exceeds the window length, and shows `<1m` in the last minute.
> * Fixed mouse report fragments such as `;24M;35M` appearing in the composer while the TUI was busy, for example after switching tabs in Warp and moving the mouse. A split fragment could also be read as Escape and stop the running task.
> * Fixed long integers in tool arguments (beyond 2^53, such as 18-digit ID numbers) being silently changed when the model wrote them without quotes. String fields now keep the exact digits.
> * Fixed App calls in the agent's `bash` failing with `Embedded mcode-tools requires MCODE_AUTH_PROVIDER=shared-broker` when another `mcode-tools`, such as one from a global npm install, came earlier in `PATH`.
> * Fixed repeated "context compaction failed" errors when a bash background task finished, its notification started a new turn, and that turn triggered automatic compaction.
> * Fixed messages queued before an async question running before your answer. During the question's countdown they now wait until you answer or skip, the countdown ends, or you send a new message.
> * Fixed `mcode exec` not exiting on stop or timeout when the process reading its stdout stopped reading. It now exits with code 6 on timeout and 130 on cancel; output not yet written at that point, including the final `exec.completed` line, is dropped.
> * A Goal continuation or automatically sent queued message that is stopped by content review is now reported as stopped by review with the review notice, instead of as an empty response.

> * Programmatic Tool Calling (PTC, beta): when enabled, the agent writes a `run_code` program that combines `read`, `grep`, `bash`, and other tool calls in a sandbox and brings only the filtered results back into context, which suits bulk file reads and multi-step tasks. Toggle "Programmatic Tool Calling" under Preferences in `/settings` (stored as `beta.ptc` in `config.yaml`, off by default), or use `mcode --ptc` / `mcode exec --ptc` to enable it for the current process only. Changes apply to new sessions and the next compaction, not to running sessions. Tool permissions, approvals, and cancellation work as before, and read-only subagents such as Explore still call tools directly. In the transcript, `run_code` lists its child calls as a tree and collapses to call and failure counts when done; press `Ctrl+O` to see the program and full output.
> * `mcode app [path]` opens a directory (the current directory by default) as the project on a new task page in MiniMax Code Desktop, on macOS and Windows. If Desktop is not installed, it prints the download page.
> * Plugins from the official marketplace can declare subagents for delegated tasks.
> * Prompt suggestions can be turned on or off under Preferences in `/settings`.
>
> ### Improved
>
> * Plugin MCP servers no longer have a tool count limit (previously 128 per server), so plugins with many tools no longer fail to load. When there are more than 64 MCP tools or their schemas take too much context, they are loaded on demand through `tool_search`.
> * The Runtime no longer edits shell profiles such as `~/.zshrc` and `~/.bashrc` or the Windows user `PATH`; it adds its `bin` directory only to the `PATH` of its own process and child processes. To use the `mcode` command in your terminal, install it with the install script or `npm i -g`.
> * With `permission.nativeDelete` enabled, delete commands whose targets cannot be resolved statically (such as PowerShell variables, pipelines, or paths outside the workspace) are no longer rejected outright and go through normal permission approval instead. Drive roots, Windows system directories, and recursive deletion of home are still rejected in every permission mode.
> * In tasks with a time limit such as `--timeout`, remaining-time reminders are written to session history so later requests keep the prompt-cache prefix and avoid recomputation.
> * In PTC, time spent waiting for your approval of a child call no longer counts toward the `run_code` time limit, so leaving an approval open no longer ends the program with a timeout. Denying a child call now fails only that call, like a native denial; the program keeps running and returns the full result to the agent. To stop the whole program, stop the turn.
> * The agent now writes `bash` descriptions (also used as background task names) and subagent titles in your language, keeping commands, paths, and identifiers as they are.
>

> * Fixed the composer wrapping character by character and redrawing repeatedly when typing ZWJ emoji in regular mode.
> * Fixed PTC child calls appearing at the top level instead of under their `run_code` after reopening a session.
> * Fixed Browser's headless Chrome renderer crashing repeatedly in containers with a small `/dev/shm`, such as Docker and Kubernetes; Chrome now uses `/tmp` when `/dev/shm` is smaller than 256 MB.
> * Fixed old sessions being unable to run commands after their bound shell was uninstalled or reinstalled elsewhere; the session now rebinds to a shell of the same kind.
> * Fixed the root/home recursive deletion guard blocking commands because of data in a heredoc body.
> * Computer Use now reclaims desktop control locks left by exited processes instead of reporting that the computer is busy, and on Windows no longer rejects a `dataDir` root moved to another drive with a junction.

> * The theme choice is stored in `tui/tui-settings.json` alongside `tuiMode` and can also be set as

> * Production bundles split startup code and defer nonessential resources, reducing version-query, first-frame, and message-ready latency.
> * Long Sessions consistently compact accumulated ToolResult content while retaining recoverable original output, reducing context usage and repeated trimming.
> * The TUI keeps a bounded, redacted local record of abnormal exits and lifecycle failures and uploads it after sign-in. Collection or upload failures never block startup, shutdown, or normal interaction.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Fixed Regular mode replaying the full Transcript during live updates, which could damage native terminal scrollback or make history jump.
> * Fixed duplicate redraws and premature cleanup completion during shutdown, updates, returns from an external editor, and terminal restoration.
> * Fixed terminal or autocomplete subprocess EOF incorrectly terminating the TUI or losing the first stop reason.
> * Fixed Session history actions, queued messages, and background tasks being projected into the wrong context after asynchronous responses, recovery, or Session switches.
> * Fixed built-in Agents without an explicit model failing to inherit the current Session model, and explicit routing for Goal verifiers and other subtasks being overwritten by Agent configuration.
> * Fixed legacy `main` or `mavis` Agent data preventing Runtime startup.
> * Fixed `/fork` offering worktree isolation when the current repository could not safely create it and failing only after selection.
> * Fixed MiniMax Plugin Hooks receiving incorrect Tool names or input shapes, which broke Hook matching and input rewriting.
> * Fixed built-in Matrix tools using the wrong authentication method for managed services.
> * Fixed interrupted, repeated, or failed install/update attempts leaving incomplete versions, with recovery from the transaction record.

> ## 0.2.4 · 2026-08-24
>
> ### New Features
>
> * `mcode acp` now expands the Session control plane with Session fork, mode and configuration switching, queue/Steer, Goal, and delegation support, while preserving consistent state ownership across connection rebinding, cancellation, and Permission/Questionnaire interactions.
> * Installed Plugin Skills can now be searched and invoked directly with `/`.
> * Added support for Plugin-compatible lifecycle Hooks, with corresponding Runtime compatibility handling.
> * Goals now support runtime budgets, automatic settlement, and independent verification; Ask waits that continue automatically now show a countdown.
> * `mcode exec` now provides structured events and output for automation scenarios.
> * Press Ctrl+U to resume the most recent Codex Session.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * Startup now shows a Server loading state and blocks message submission until Runtime is ready; startup animations and feature pages follow the current TUI mode layout correctly.
> * Composer now shows action Tips while idle.
> * Absolute image paths paste as short placeholders; Agent Team subtask rows remain stable as status updates, and progress indicators for long-running Bash and background tasks are clearer.
> * During long Sessions, context compaction now prioritizes trimming tool results that save at least 70% of context, reducing low-value trimming; background-task reminder deduplication and read counts are more stable.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Limited retained Tool Transcript content per Tool input/detail. When limits are exceeded, the beginning and end are preserved with the original byte count, preventing large payloads from occupying memory over long periods.
> * Fixed legacy BYOK Provider, Session, and historical Custom Agent configurations interfering with migration or blocking Runtime during TUI startup.
> * Permission Core now has a deterministic policy owner. Command-level denials remain fail-closed; Windows literal delete commands that can be safely reclaimed run against fixed targets, while complex or unverifiable commands continue to be denied.
> * Fixed pending updates being unable to resume in npm prefixes.
> * Fixed Session canonical history paths changing when the local timezone changes, as well as history retention boundary issues during Host failures and Fork.
> * Fixed compaction failures after model context changes and Compact checkpoints losing Subagent state.
>

> ## 0.2.3 · 2026-08-22
>
> ### New Features
>
> * Added `/export [path.md]`, which exports the complete history of the current Session to Markdown. It supports workspace-relative paths, automatic suffixes for conflicting files, credential redaction, 0600 file permissions, and clickable local file links.
> * The model selector now groups models by Provider, supports real-time search across Provider, model name, display name, variant, and `provider/model`, and supports Backspace, Delete, left/right cursor movement, and retaining the full model catalog.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * `/rename` without arguments opens Session Manager with the current Session preselected. Permission, Plan Review, and Questionnaire interactions now share nested-input focus, cancellation, failure feedback, and recovery paths.
> * Ctrl+C exit confirmation now uses an armed “press again to exit” state. Cleared Drafts can be restored with Ctrl+Z, without a fixed 500 ms window.
> * Improved startup performance by lazy-loading dependencies that are not needed at startup.
> * The MiniMax Code product knowledge Skill is now a top-level route with trusted region context and topic-specific reference loading for account, Agent, extension, and workflow topics.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Fixed history finalization after compaction within a Turn continuing to reference a stale identity, which could cause state reconciliation errors in long-running Sessions.
> * Fixed `tool_trim` persistence rewriting the user message and causing the Turn to fail; original user payloads are now preserved.
> * Fixed `mcode update` parsing when npm returns a single-element version array.
> * Fixed inconsistent settlement of run results, Agent Team, and Runtime events when reconnects, duplicates, or out-of-order events arrive.
>

>
> ### New Features
>
> * Added `/rewind` and `/edit`, which let you select a rollback range from history, preview the changes, edit them, and resubmit. `/fork`, attachments, and Draft recovery now consistently reuse the Runtime Session contract.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * When multiple MCode Sessions are running, `/update` shows the actual number of blocking processes and waits for old processes to exit safely before activating the update, instead of stopping midway at a fixed timeout.
> * When the context budget is insufficient, Slash Review now switches automatically to a compact Git self-discovery Prompt while preserving review results and the recovery path, making long Sessions less likely to fail because of oversized input.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Fixed completed subtasks accumulating additional elapsed time after an Agent Team was restored from a historical Session.
> * Fixed terminal EOF being reported as an abnormal exit, and fixed shared cleanup timeouts leaving later resources open.
> * Fixed an old Turn lease remaining attached to a Session after a process restart and blocking later operations.

> * `/settings` now shows the actual layout differences between Regular and Fullscreen. Arrow keys only move focus; the selected mode is applied after confirmation.

> ## 0.2.0 · 2026-08-20
>
> ### New Features
>
> * Rebuilt the terminal rendering and input foundation to unify Regular and Fullscreen behavior across Markdown, Unicode, images, keyboards, mice, search, and window resizing.
> * Permission requests now use complete approval cards that clearly show commands, files, matching rules, and risks, with separate options for one-time approval, session approval, and rejection. The approval stays open until Runtime confirms the result.
> * `/copy` in SSH sessions can write to the local clipboard through the terminal protocol. Task-completion notifications are also deduplicated according to terminal capabilities.
> * Added the `sessionTitle.enabled` setting to disable Runtime requests for Session title generation.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * Redesigned `/context`, `/usage`, and `/status` to present context composition, Token usage, model, reasoning effort, Compaction, and runtime status through capacity, proportions, and status hierarchy.
> * Runtime now adjusts the output budget and Compact threshold dynamically based on the remaining context. Long sessions no longer compact too early because of the model's full output limit, while preserving safe space for a single-turn response.
> * When a long-running task has unfinished Todo items, the Agent checks progress again on the assistant iteration cadence, reducing the chance of remaining steps being missed.
> * Project-level Skills now appear in TUI Slash Command completion. MCP Servers remain in a starting state during cold start instead of being incorrectly reported as failed after the first status check times out.
> * Fullscreen scrolling, search, selection, and tail-follow are managed by one viewport. Switching between Regular and Fullscreen no longer rebuilds Runtime or loses Sessions, Drafts, attachments, or blocked interactions.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Fixed the input box being clipped when Slash Command completion or a feature list was expanded in Fullscreen, and fixed the need to press an extra key before the input recovered after exiting.
> * Fixed Fullscreen AskUser covering recent messages and namespaced AskUser Tool completion states leaking into the Transcript.
> * Fixed the viewport jumping back to the top when Tool details were toggled during streaming. On Windows, image pasting now prefers `Alt+V`, while `Ctrl+Z` provides Editor/Draft undo without conflicting with Windows Terminal zoom.
> * Fixed the Composer failing to accept input after an external editor launched with `Ctrl+G` in PowerShell exited.
> * Fixed Runtime state refreshes in Regular mode interrupting Slash Command candidates, so the first `/` could show no candidates and later input could lag behind the list.
> * Fixed long AskUser, Queue, and Plan viewer panels being clipped in Regular mode, hiding the question, current option, or document content.
> * Unified how Settings, AskUser, and other interactions replace the Composer with Pi's mounted-state semantics, preventing empty-frame flicker, blocked input, and stale content after an interaction ends.
> * Fixed completed background Subagents reusing the previous Query's collapsed state and timing, and fixed `/review` queued-message sources and bubbles failing to reconcile correctly.
> * Fixed an invalid Workspace with accelerated indexing enabled from blocking the current Session from sending messages.
> * Fixed Read-Before-Write path identity mismatches for local Windows file tools, and fixed the installer misidentifying PowerShell's `mcode.ps1` launcher resolution as a failure.
> * Fixed `/update` overwriting files in place inside an npm prefix and locking native modules. Updates now use isolated staging followed by an atomic switch.

> ### New Features
>
> * Added `/retry`, which resends a preserved message after a Provider or network failure. Unfinished requests can also continue when restoring a historical Session, and blocked Goals can be resumed directly.
> * Added configurable status-bar sections and ordering for directory, Session, Git, model, reasoning effort, context, and other information, including the current run state.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * Provider, network, authentication, and rate-limit errors now explain the cause and next steps more clearly. Retry progress is shown during automatic retries, and failed-request context is preserved when switching or restoring Sessions.
> * MCP Servers remain in a starting state during cold start instead of being incorrectly reported as failed when the first status check times out.
> * Models and reasoning effort now take effect correctly before the first request. BYOK connectivity tests and the Codex OAuth proxy behave more accurately.
> * The installer safely reuses a compatible system Node.js when possible, preserves the existing PATH, and supports explicitly selecting a verified download mirror for mainland China.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Fixed the input Draft being cleared when selecting and copying messages in PowerShell and Windows Terminal.
> * Fixed `/quit` being restored as an input Draft, and fixed Session restoration incorrectly triggering Queue sends.
> * Fixed duplicate message display after pasting images, Goal inline attachments failing to start, and elapsed execution time being lost after history pagination.
> * Fixed Windows launcher path escaping and compatibility issues in some installation and update scenarios.

>
> ### New Features
>
> * Added `/goal` for creating, viewing, and managing a Goal in the current TUI Session, including its status, progress, and elapsed time. Goal semantics are aligned with Desktop and Runtime.
> * Added Plugin management: `mcode plugin` and the interactive Plugin manager can browse official and local sources, install, enable, disable, and remove Plugins.
> * Improved `/provider` and `/model`: view and test Providers, switch between MiniMax OAuth and API Key, and select models and reasoning effort. The active model and effort are also shown in the status bar and `/status`.
> * Improved ACP and ongoing collaboration: persistent Sessions can be listed, loaded, resumed, and closed; while a task is running, you can Queue follow-up messages and steer the current Draft or the next queued message. `/new` no longer breaks Session identity.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * Unified mouse scrolling, `PgUp` / `PgDn`, text selection, and copy behavior. Selections stay anchored as content scrolls and support automatic scrolling while dragging; non-TTY and compatible terminals continue to use native terminal scrollback.
> * Added visual information for `/context` and `/usage`, including the context window, Token breakdown, session usage, and Compaction status.
> * Tool calls, Skill completion, and Queue messages now appear more promptly. Generated-file receipts now use clear, clickable paths that open the corresponding file or directory.
> * Permission, Questionnaire, and Compaction requests now consistently follow the Runtime contract, reducing lost or duplicated pending-request states.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Fixed copy offsets while scrolling a dragged selection and delayed rendering of Queue messages.
> * Fixed built-in Matrix tools being incorrectly removed when the `mcode-tools` switch was enabled.
> * Fixed image pasting on Windows and WSL, along with compatibility issues in TUI generated-file path display.

>
> * ACP editor connections can reopen or continue previous Sessions after a restart. Also fixed Session mismatches that could be caused by `/new`.
> * JSON output from `mcode exec` now includes the model actually used, making usage reporting easier.
> * Added `/copy`, which copies the latest Assistant response to the system clipboard while preserving Markdown. If there is no response to copy or the clipboard is unavailable, MCode provides a clear explanation and a manual-copy path.
>
> ### Improvements
>
> * Session titles are more accurate, and tool calls and Skill completion are clearer.
> * macOS scroll shortcut hints now use `Fn` combinations that better match the actual keyboard.
>
> ### Fixes
>
> * Conversations can now start while using a MiniMax API Key without being signed in.
> * Fixed extra text being appended to delivered-file paths, and fixed frequent flicker in the input cursor and borders.
> * Improved WSL sign-in and Windows PowerShell installer compatibility.
